What to do with scraps

Taking part in the scrap swap has got me thinking of some snazzy way to use them up. Then I saw Lara's Ikea boxes and took it one step further.

I glued the fabric with some tacky craft clue, then when dried brushed on some gloss gel medium (available in art supply shops) which dries up clear. The gloss gel seals the fabric weave and makes it harder for the dust to get in between the threads.

Still waiting.....no new sewing.

Hope you all have a good weekend! Cheerio!

Isn’t this funny, Lara inspired me to do the same, but I will use some gorgeous paper and no fabrics. You can’t have enough of those Ikea boxes!

Very, very cute! Is this going in the new crafting space? Loved your illustration too -- you're always doing so many other things -- I forget that you can draw too -- you're too talented! ;-)

we drove past your car in Neutral bay today (about 12.30ish!) so funny!!!

You inspired me to put keira's hair in 2 piggies and it was sooo cute! hubby did a bad job but I did a neater job and she kept them in all day so I think its a winner

What a great ikea...idea. Yours look terrific. I can't remember the name but there is a blog something along the lines of 'Punk My Ikea.' It's full of creatively modified Ikea furniture.

Wow, so lovely, when we move i want to do something similiar with the tall boy (so big version) the 4 children have been sharing (they only have light clothes all year round in the tropics, so they only need 1 tall boy, plus wardrobe between them). I have pretty drawer knobs all lined up too, well, somewhere in the house, i'll find them when we move. Love Posie

Oh what a great idea. Perhaps a visit to Ikea over the school holidays will be in order.
