Jade went out today.....

.....and came back with no fabric. What the!

I was exercising "restraint" in a big way. Blame it on this buddhism book I've been reading. Apparently the fabric-wanting is very akin to the "mind energy" of lust......or extreme desire. Yep, I'm lusting after a ruffler foot right now. Ooh yeah, and some more italian linen. Ahhhh!

And the cure? A bit of time and practising restraint. The book says that waiting around for the fabric-wanting to blow over might make me realise that it's just my mind looking around for the next pleasurable thing it thinks it needs (I need that ruffler foot!). Apparently, if I'm patient enough to wait it out and if the thing I'm lusting after is wholesome (hmmm, is it?)....and the timing is appropriate, then I can go get it.

Anyhow, I'm still waiting for the wanting to blow over. I suppose I saved myself from a splurge today.

In the meantime, lookee, lookee.........here's my gocco-ed christmas cards drying out. A bit acid green, no?

Hope you're all having a good week. Cheerio!

Well done Jade, I need to read that book too! Please tell me what’s a ruffler foot. Your cards are wonderful, one screen for the green and one for the print I guess?

I love the Christmas cards - I think that the green is fantastic! That gocco thing (only ever seen it on blogs and not in real life) is just the coolest!
PS Well done on the restraint exhibited!

No restraint in this neck of the woods. Brought myself a ruffler last week on ebay. At least you would put that ruffler to good use, I just want it because it looks cool!

Jade, I really admire your ability to abstain from purchasing more fabric. Well done. As for the ruffler foot - just think - it is a necessity - you only need one (it's not like you are going to have a great big stash of them and buy one every time you go out).

So go for it. And Go Gocco!!!! Now that is something that I am lusting after (or maybe I should say 'desire' to have)

Jade, I've said it before and I will say it again...you rock. I've been off the internet this week - so busy! But I have just read through your posts - love the cards, tour of Sydney's secret delights, quilt and spotty fabric.

Great cards Jade! Now you must reward yourself and go get that ruffler. And so it won't feel lonely, you should probably get some fabric to go along with it! LOL.

I will look into that book. I also find that if I don't leave the house then I don't spend money. :)
Nice cards. I am planning to make our's this year but not sure on the design yet.
