Horsing around

I have, I have...but in a crafty way, of course. All that thread sorting got me itchy for some hand stitching. And I ended up with another keyring of a dala horse. This one was actually inspired by this card I've saved in my etsy favourites.

I've sewn the japanese flowery fabric on the back and some spare numbers tape for the loop. My thoughtful sister got me a packet of those metal rings last year.....could she possibly get me some more??? Hint, hint.

Here's a close-up of the stitching for you curious peeps.

The mojo is still a bit on-and-off, so methinks I'll just go with the flow for now and do some actual pattern tracing. Where it leads, the stash or the couch, could only be a good thing.

Cheerio!

Love that Japanese fabric!

Your stitching is fantastic.

Sorting threads would have to be one of my favourite ways to waste time. I loved putting them all on my new spool holder - its the colour thing.

I think that your stitching is amazing! I love the horse - I can see me trying to cross-stitch one to try to match the Russian style bauble that I did before - all beads and colour!!

I first thought you used fabric for the horse, but it’s all stitched!!! Amazing!! It looks gorgeous Jade!
I’ve been to the land of the Dala horses, before IKEA was ever introduced. Lots of coloured wooden houses and lots of pine trees.

Stunning work Jade! Too wonderful for a keyring - would look really lovely as part of a hanging mobile :-)

Lovely stitching! And I'm so in love with the Dala horse these days. Actually, just found a vintage one from my grandmother's closet! He now lives in my little guy's room.

So cute! I saw Dala horse things in the winter issue of the Hanna Anderson catalog. I know you probably don't have that there but it's a Swedish clothing catalog that I like to steal ideas out of. Of course I never did anything with the idea like you did. Crafty mojo must be dwelling in your house this week!
