Just flooring it

My walking foot and I have been doing great distances this week. What was this bunch of squares has become two pram blankies (or security blankies). That's what I'm calling them anyway.....all part of the product development process, you know.

I used some plain homespun, some Michael Miller "playpals" and lots of the Moda "peas & carrots", including that ubiquitous candy-shaped fabric on the binding.

And the other side is some light green soft minky fabric.

The second one has some of the orange fabric binding.

I had a lightbulb moment last week when I saw the "playpals" fabric at the bottom of my fabric box. This was one of my first stash building purchases.

Now I just gotta think up a new patchwork design for another two blankies and finish it all by next week. Maybe small log cabins? I have some green gingham lying about somewhere....hmmm, must rummage some more.

So if you're local to Sydney, come by our stall at Kirribilli markets next Saturday and say hello. Belinda and I will be doing the morning shift, while Corrie and Claudine will take over in the afternoon. It would be nice to put a face to a blog.

Alright, I need to put my thinking cap back on and come up with some more goodies for the market.

Cheerio!

Beautiful work Jade, you're incredible!! I have those fabrics too, but never used that way . . . yet. It's a bit scary when you sew so much you go through the 1000m spools each week. As per your suggestion & after a pretty quiet week at home (husband's birthday celebrations aside) I'm going to take some snaps of my market stall at Nightcliff NT tomorrow & post a 'how to' do market stalls. I've learnt so much, from 'how to escape to do a market while you're still breastfeeding' to 'making your stand eye catching'. Stay tuned. I am on my own 95% of the time, so have to raise a marquee etc solo, which i think is impressive for my 5'6" height. Keep the products coming - you're so sew clever. Love Posie

Thanks Jade, you just gave ME a light bulb moment! I have been racking my brain on what quilt design to do with some children's fabric I've had for ages. This idea is perfect and I love it set in the white - brilliant. Hope you don't mind if I do something similar - it's for a friend's new baby boy. Good luck with the market. I'm sure it will be a huge success with all the gorgeous goodies you girls make.

I would love to drop by to see all your beatigul work, but it’s a pity that will not be possible! Have fun at the market!

Oh Jade, they turned out so cute! By now, I'm sure you're convinced I'm a dingbat -- why did I think you were in Melbourne? I'm SO confused -- anyway, sorry. That guess that clock's changing to Sydney. LOL. Great job on the quilts -- good luck with your market!
